Privacy Policy — Safal Kheti

Safal Kheti ("we", "our", or "the app") is operated by Lumovate Intelligence. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Safal Kheti mobile application and how we handle it.
By using Safal Kheti you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following information directly from you:
- Mobile number — used to send a one-time password (OTP) for sign-in and to identify your account.
- Name — provided during profile setup; used to personalise the app.
- Approximate and precise location — when you grant permission, used to show local weather, mandi (market) prices, and relevant farming advice.
- Saved locations — places you choose to save for quick weather lookups.
- Voice recordings — audio captured when you speak to the in-app AI assistant. Sent to our backend for transcription and AI response, then discarded. Voice recordings are not stored on our servers after the response is returned.
- Photos — images you choose to upload (e.g. of a crop or pest). Sent to our AI provider for analysis. We do not retain the image on our servers after analysis.
- Conversation history — text transcripts of your conversations with the AI assistant, stored so you can review past advice.
- Preferred language — to localise responses.
- Diagnostic data — crash reports, error events, and basic usage events sent to our crash-reporting service. This data does not include your mobile number, name, voice, or photos.
We do not collect: email address, payment information, contacts list, calendar, SMS contents, advertising IDs.
2. How we use this information
- To authenticate you (OTP verification).
- To deliver the core features of the app: AI farming assistant, weather forecast, mandi price lookup, government scheme information.
- To save your settings and conversation history so the experience persists across sessions.
- To diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
We do not use your information for advertising or profiling.
3. Third-party services we share data with
Safal Kheti relies on the following processors. Data is shared only as strictly necessary to deliver the requested feature, and each processor has its own privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Data retention
- Mobile number, name, preferred language, saved locations: retained while your account is active. Deleted on account deletion.
- Conversation history: retained while your account is active, capped at the most recent 200 messages per conversation. Deleted on account deletion.
- Voice recordings and uploaded photos: never stored on our servers. Held in memory only for the duration of the request.
- Crash and error reports: retained by Sentry per their default policy (typically 30–90 days).
5. Your rights
- Update your profile at any time from inside the app.
- Delete a conversation at any time from inside the app.
- Log out of all devices from the app settings.
- Request account deletion by emailing us at the address below. We will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
6. Security
- All network traffic uses HTTPS / WSS (encrypted).
- Authentication tokens are stored in the device's secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain), not in plain shared preferences.
- We do not collect or store passwords; we use OTP-based authentication.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
7. Children
Safal Kheti is intended for adult farmers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance.
