Terms & Conditions

These Terms govern your use of the Safal Kheti mobile application ("the app"), operated by Lumovate Intelligence ("we", "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who can use Safal Kheti

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
  • You must provide a valid Indian mobile number that you own.
  • You must use the app only for personal, lawful, non-commercial purposes related to farming.

2. Your account

  • We authenticate you via a one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile number. You are responsible for keeping access to that number secure.
  • You may not share your account, attempt to use another person's mobile number, or create multiple accounts to abuse the service.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably suspect of fraud or abuse.

3. The AI assistant — important disclaimer

Safal Kheti's AI assistant provides agricultural guidance based on publicly available information and machine learning models. While we work to make it accurate and useful, please understand:

  • The assistant can be wrong. AI models occasionally produce inaccurate or incomplete advice.
  • Recommendations are not a substitute for professional agricultural, veterinary, or legal advice. For high-stakes decisions (large purchases, severe disease outbreaks, soil testing, pesticide application at scale), please consult a qualified agricultural extension officer, agronomist, or local Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK).
  • Always follow the safety instructions on any chemical product before use, regardless of what the app recommends.
  • You use the AI advice at your own risk. We are not liable for crop loss, yield variation, livestock outcomes, or financial loss arising from advice followed.

4. Third-party data

The app displays weather forecasts (sourced from Open-Meteo) and mandi prices (sourced from data.gov.in). This data is provided by external sources, and we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Always verify critical figures with a primary source before making financial decisions.

5. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the app for any illegal purpose or in violation of any Indian law.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app, except where permitted by law.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or attempt to bypass our authentication or rate limits.
  • Use the app to submit content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes anyone's rights.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercialise the app or its outputs without our consent.
  • Send automated requests (bots, scripts) to the app or our backend beyond what the normal user interface allows.

6. Intellectual property

  • The Safal Kheti app, its name, logo, design, and content are owned by Lumovate Intelligence and protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws.
  • We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own farming activities.
  • Content you submit (e.g. photos, voice recordings, questions) remains yours. You grant us a licence to process it as needed to deliver the service (see our Privacy Policy).

7. Service availability

  • We do our best to keep the service available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. The app depends on the internet, your device, and several third-party services (telecom, AI providers, weather APIs) that can be temporarily unavailable.
  • We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We'll try to give reasonable notice for major changes, but small improvements may roll out without warning.

8. Pricing

Safal Kheti is currently free to use. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future. Any pricing changes will be clearly communicated and will never retroactively charge for past usage.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumovate Intelligence and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of crop, loss of income, or loss of opportunity — arising from your use of the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any direct loss caused by our negligence shall not exceed ₹1,000 (one thousand rupees) or the amount you have paid us in the last twelve months, whichever is greater.

10. Termination

  • You may stop using the app at any time and request account deletion via email.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if continued use poses a security or legal risk.
  • Sections 3, 5, 6, 9, 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the new Terms.
